Visited Moonstone Bistro for the first time for Sunday Brunch. We hadn't made any reservations, but there was seating available. We opted for a table on their patio. A quick check of the menu, drinks were ordered. Shortly after the arrival of the drinks, we ordered our brunch. We also received a scone for each of us, as part of the breakfast. We ordered the buckwheat pancakes, the moonstone traitor Benedict, and the classic breakfast with mushrooms and spinach. We didn't have to wait long before our food was served. It was plated well and of good portion size. I found the buckwheat pancakes to be very good. The Benedict was well like, too. The classic breakfast was a bit too greasy for the liking of that person. The service was very good and the prices were a bit above average. I thought the restaurant was inviting and had a good bistro vibe.

This is definitely my favorite places to eat in Redding. The chef and staff here make every visit special. The food is great, it’s a lot of fresh farm to table which I really appreciate. I would love to see the menu rotate and offer a more seasonal approach. (Because I’m going to eat her a lot.) The drinks are on point with a wide variety wine and cocktails. They have pet friendly seating on the patio. They offered me water, then also offered to bring some water for my dog. On top of that, they gave her a small snack too. It’s refreshing to see a high quality restaurant in Redding be so progressive and accommodating.

My husband and I came for an early Valentine's dinner. We are gluten-free, and there were multiple options for us, which is great. Our waiter, Seth, was amazing. Food was definitely on point. The sweet chili chicken is savory and just packed with so much flavor. It did take a little bit of time to get our food, but it was completely worth it. We were very happy with the food, service and atmosphere.

After a good hike exercise at the Whiskeytown fall trail, we were hungry and wanted to find something to eat quickly. Given the good rating at yelp, we gave it a try. We ordered some cocktail, the lunch special and the salad, they are very tasty, but it is considered quite pricy given the portion of the meal (the lunch special came with a very small sandwich + either salad / soup, for $18). By the way, the complimentary bread comes with some kind of home made garlic butter. The bread is OK, but the garlic butter is really tasty. We liked the butter more than the bread.!! Overall, it was a good experience. the waitress was very nice and we love the quality of the meal. Highly recommended.!!. However, if you are looking for a big feast without breaking the bank, this may not be the right choice for you.

The Moonstone Bistro is one of the best places to eat in Redding. The atmosphere is intimate, and the food is made from locally sourced ingredients that make all the difference. You can read about the local businesses the restaurant partners with in their menu, and it really makes a difference - even the celery in the Bloody Mary is tasty! Any occasion would be worth going here.

I feel sorry for family owned restaurants such as this, which is due to the incredibly short sightedness of Gavin Newsom and his ilk by foolishly raising the minimum wage to $20.00 per hour. No one is going to win in the end. Many businesses will have to cut back on hours for their current employees, prices will rise significantly across the board, and the extra costs are going to be passed on to the public. This in turn will stop people from dining out, and unfortunately businesses will have to close, which in turn will further reduce the tax base, and will further balloon the $68 billion dollar budget deficit that California is already facing.

French trained chef creates amazing flavors in every one of several dishes we’ve had. Yummy pork spare ribs, an awesome thick garden burger and lovely homemade bun. A “Yam Gratin” that was killer: succulent, tasty fat mushrooms along thin sliced yams and an amazing sauce. And a cream of eggplant soup that took me from dubious to delirious. Seriously. Add a top notch barkeep—excellent, well thought out wine and spirits lists in a highly readable drink menu and many fabulous, tasty cocktail choices. Never mind the supermarket parking lot outside: this place knows joyous food & drink combinations that blow away most joints in pricier real estate. Seth & Eric & staff created a very welcome, attentive, friendly setting & service. Thanks folks. Well done all!
